On the Dolomites in northern Italy, Lago de Garda (Lake Garda) has the title of the country’s largest lake. This alpine region was formed at the end of the last ice age, leaving behind a truly unique and beautiful part of the world. I had already spent loads of time exploring Italy’s stunning coastlines, but I had never experienced these crystal clear lakes scattered through out the north. It has left me constantly ‘Dreaming of Garda"‘.

While wandering along a small part of the lake I came across this building that looked like it was stuck in time. It was the Golfo Hotel. What really captivated me was the angles of the structure and the type working so harmoniously with the trees on the hill behind, while looking at it from this vantage point.

The natural texture of the charcoal on the paper really lent itself and recreated the imperfections and wear on the building that encapsulates the history and culture of the environment.
